#4 - Apache - The Incredible Bongo Band

A track I first heard this way back on the Spike Jonze skate film "Yeah Right" and just one of those covers which just elevates the song above what it once was thanks to a healthy dose of funk for it's

Presented here in it's original form it's no doubt better known in it's remix form by the Sugar Hill Gang were it provided the soundtrack to one of the more memorable dance scenes on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air".

This version  the fifth version to be released is often refered to as "Hip-Hop's National Anthem" and while it was never a hit since it's release it's been sampled numerous times by the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, the aforementioned The Sugarhill Gang, alongside L.L. Cool J, The Roots and Nas. At the same time techno performers The Future Sound of London and Moby, and drum and bass acts J Majik and Goldie have sampled it.
